This year’s edition of the Festival del film Locarno’s First Look initiative will focuse on Polish Cinema. Thanks to a partnership with the Polish Film Institute and Fundacja Polskie Centrum Audiowizualne, this year’s First Look will present 6 films in post-production chosen by the Festival del film Locarno.
The titles selected to the section are:
“13 Summers Under The Water” by Wiktoria Szymańska
“Birds are singing in Kigali” by Joanna Kos-Krauze & Krzysztof Krauze
“The butler” by Filip Bajon
“Day of chocolate” by Jacek Piotr Bławut
“I’m killer” by Maciej Pieprzyca
“Zgoda” by Maciej Sobieszczański
On August 8, the jury will be handing out an award worth 65,000 euros in post-production services.
Polish Films present in Festival del film Locarno’s official selection:
“The Last Family” by Jan Matuszyński (Concorso Internazionale)
“The sun, the sun blinded me” by Anka and Wilhelm Sasnal (Signs of Life)
“Komunia” by Anna Zamecka (Semaine de la Critique)
“Monk of the Sea” by Rafał Skalski (Semaine de la Critique)
